JFHS ROCK EISTEDDFOD TEAM 

The Rock Eisteddfod is a very significant part of the Creative and Performing Arts at James Fallon High School. This school has been participating  since 1992 and have had some amazing successes. The Rock Eisteddfod is open to all students from years 8 to 12 and operates as a sport at James Fallon.

Over the past seven years we have competed in the elite Premier Division in Melbourne which showcases the top twelve schools in Victoria. In 2007 we were placed fifth overall winning awards for costuming, use of stage, backdrops, entertainment value, choreography and student achievement. Students work on the project from February through to the August, with heats and a Grand Final in September each year.

Eighteen years after beginning our long but rewarding Rock Eisteddfod journey, the Rock Eisteddfod team did not go to Melbourne in 2010 as there was a national problem with funding. To prove that 'competing' and 'winning' weren't the only things that motivate us, we decided to develop a Rock Eisteddfod entry anyway, so the team instead performed at a show called "Northern Spirit" at the Performing Arts Centre. The Rock Eisteddfod group did a 15 minute show called "The Crucible" and the school musical cast did an excerpt from "Little Shop of Horrors." As well we had choir and dance items from Glenroy, North Albury, Albury, Hume and Thurgoona Public Schools that went to make a 2 hour plus show.
